KNX TP + DALI-2 on one board
Smart KNX Lighting Controller
A controller that bridges KNX TP and DALI-2 lighting, running scenes, schedules, occupancy and daylight logic locally.
Overview
The controller connects a KNX TP installation bus to a DALI-2 lighting line for residential and light-commercial automation. It receives KNX group telegrams, converts them to lighting commands and runs scenes, schedules, occupancy and daylight logic locally.

The design supports DT6 lighting control and DT8 tunable-white functions. Core lighting automation remains on the controller and does not require cloud connectivity.
Challenge
Bring two building-control interfaces and local automation onto one DIN-rail controller. The board needs to combine processing, KNX and DALI communication, DALI bus power and service interfaces within the installation’s physical and electrical constraints.
What We Did
HTS developed the custom controller electronics and embedded control functions for KNX-to-DALI command handling and local lighting automation. The design integrates the STM32 controller, bus interfaces and power circuitry, with Ethernet and USB-C service connectivity.

Result
The design combines KNX-to-DALI control, local lighting automation, bus power and service connectivity on one board. Lighting logic runs at the controller, so its core automation functions can operate without a cloud connection.
